VoyagersOutreach

Weekly Sunday School offerings are donated to Heifer International, which supports a host of self-sustaining development projects throughout the world.

Offerings of canned goods, peanut butter and powdered milk are brought by children each week to stock the shelves of Hope Food Pantry of New Rochelle.

Our Voyagers sell school supplies each Fall to all parishioners, which are then donated to children in need.

During the month of November, families donate vitamins and used clothing to the work of the Tardieu family with Haitian orphans.

Families donate toys each Christmas for the Three Kings Celebration of Iglesia La Gracia of White Plains.

Several times each year, all parishioners are invited to participate in the ministry of Midnight Run. There are plenty of jobs for all ages: packing bag lunches, making soup, sorting clothing and toiletries, loading up the vans, and (for teens and night-people) making the midnight delivery to homeless people in New York City.

Parish Events

Parish Picnic: The annual Parish Picnic occurs in June, marking the close the Sunday School year. We gather immediately after the 10:00 service for a cookout and good fellowship.

Christmas Pageant: A long-standing tradition at St. John's is the annual Christmas Pageant. There are many roles for children and adults. Gifts are collected for the Tres Res (Epiphany) Celebration at the Grace Church Hispanic Ministries.

Parish Weekend: The Parish Weekend is an annual event taking place in April at the Incarnation Center in Ivoryton, Connecticut. Designed for all members of the congregation, there are planned activities for children and a program with a speaker for adults. There is also free time for tennis, walking, and enjoying the beautiful scenery.

Other Events: Advent Program, Epiphany Liturgy, Roast Beef Dinner (the evening before the Holiday Bazaar).
