Outreach Outreach is an important part of our Christian witness. There are several opportunities throughout the year for St. John's members and friends to engage in meaningful outreach activities that build the parish community as well as offer assistance to deserving people. Along with more than a dozen outreach services that the St. John's annual budget supports financially, St. John's members work together - hands on - to support local ministries: packing groceries for the Larchmont-Mamaroneck Food Pantry; gardening and weeding with the Friends of the Reservoir; cooking, baking and delivering meals to Open Arms Men's Shelter; and collecting toys, vitamins and clothing for Paul's House for Children and Families in the Bronx. Additionally, St. John's parishioners regularly commit to two major annual projects: the Beyond Our Walls project and the Midnight Run.
There are a number of ways to serve the greater community at St. John's. Please consult the clergy for more information on how you or your family might get connected with a valuable ministry opportunity. |
